My family would say that my interest in design began in my early teens when I boldly decided to “redo” a small bathroom in my family home when my parents were away for the weekend. The, then trendy blue and purple 60’s floral beckoned me and my ever-positive mom returned with the reinforcement that urged me on.
I believe that my passion for design began much earlier when I was constantly trying new furniture arrangements and accessory placement in my childhood bedroom. Instead of buying the typical teen magazines, I would opt for decorating magazines for inspiration. Throughout my late teen and early adult years I was always helping friends with design projects while refining my design skills and hunting for furniture to creatively reinvent with paint. The 70’s took me to Oregon where I started “flipping” houses and “staging” them for resale, (long before the terms of staging or flipping were known).
In the early 80’s I took formal education in interior design in Orange County, California, and established a retail design program for a large fabric wholesaler and my own business Taylor-Made Designs. While teaching full-time I continued to work in design, and in 2004 I retired from teaching, after 30 years in the classroom, and returned to school to become a certified Interior Redesigner, Stager and Color Expert.
My personal dreams and goals brought me to this business, Dream Interior Redesign and Staging by Ginger Foust.
Good design and decorating is my dream and my passion. This business is NOT my hobby. When I can help my clients achieve: a new look in a room, on a wall, assist with paint color selections, prepare a house for the resale market (staging), shop for specific accessories or furniture, teach seminars about decorating or make the transition to a new home more tranquil, I get a rush of adrenaline that is addictive. I know that I can help you fulfill your dream with your home for dwelling or for selling.
